BANGALORE: The creator of Balance Scorecard Dr Robert Kaplan said that Indian IT companies should offer better customer solutions than just providing `low-cost options.' Speaking at an international seminar `Competing in the Information Age: Using Balanced Scorecard for Competitive Advantage,' he said successful companies follow best practices like having an office for strategy, aligning HR and IT to strategy and treating BSC to make their senior executive perform better. He said the business scorecard is used by about 80 percent of the Fortune 1000 companies as it enables them to have a clear vision and strategy from four perspectives like financial, internal business processes, customer and learning and growth and translate them into action.
