Bangalore: Electronic equipment production in India will be worth $32 billion in 2011 compared to $14 billion in 2006, according to Gartner. According to the findings from Gartner, the semiconductor consumption in India will more than double from $2.8 billion in 2006 to $7.2 billion in 2011. Global electronics equipment manufacturers are finding India as an attractive manufacturing destination because of low labor costs, large talent pool and friendly policy moves by the government. In 2006, consumer electronics equipment segment held the number one slot with 39 percent share of all electronic production in India.
