Indian American Robert Gupta- First Violinist for LA Philharmonic

Bangalore: Robert Vijay Gupta, an Indian American becomes the first violinist for Los Angeles Philharmonic. Philharmonic is an American orchestra based in Los Angeles, California.

Robert joined the orchestra in the year 2007, when he was just 19. He was one of the youngest members of Philharmonic, at the time.

Robert started playing the instrument when he was four years old. At the age of eight, Robert performed his solo debut in a series of concerts in the New York City. He played a Violin concerto from Mozart, in front of an audience of thousands.

Gupta completed his Master’s degree in Music from Yale University and Bachelor’s degree in biology from Marist College. While doing graduation in Biology, he attended the Manhattan School of Music and the Juilliard School of Music, simultaneously.

Approaching music with modesty and integrity has helped the young chap conquer heights in the world of music. His hobbies include reading and photography.

Gupta is in charge of Street Symphony, a non-profit organization which conducts educational workshops and imparts music to people who donot have access to arts.
