Indian-American conferred Professor Emeritus title

Washington: Tarun Sen, an Indian American has been bestowed with the title of 'Professor Emeritus'. Sen is an Accounting and Information systems Professor in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech, U.S. The title was conferred to Sen by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors. The 'Professor Emeritus' title is given to retired professors and associate professors, administrative officers, librarians, and exceptional staff members who are specially recommended to the board of visitors by Virginia Tech President Charles W Steger. Sen, who is a member of the Virginia Tech community since 1985, has published his works in several leading journals like Management Science, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Decision Support Systems, and IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. Having got his Ph.D. from University of Iowa, Sen has served on the editorial review board of the Journal of Information Systems and participated in several National Science Foundation review panels. He has also served as an associate dean of graduate and international programs and director of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. Sen has launched the first Executive MBA program of the University in the National Capital Region. He was also instrumental in launching the joint Master in Information Technology program between Virginia Tech and S P Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. He has experience in teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels - most recently teaching in the Master of Information Technology program in the National Capital Region. Sen has also served in several dissertation committees.
