Controversies

Singh was accused of hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikhs, and of involvement in murder. His followers have alleged harassment and persecution at the hand of the radicals. In 2002 Gurmeet Singh and his Dera came under investigation in connection with the charges of sexual exploitation of women followers of the sect, and the murder of a journalist Ram Chander Chatrapati.
