New Delhi: India will soon ratify the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, which it had signed in 2005, officials said Monday. "The ratification process is currently under way and is likely to be completed soon," said external affair ministry's official spokesperson Vishnu Prakash. Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee also assured mediapersons that the convention will be ratified soon. "As far as the UN convention on graft is considered, there is a long legal procedure. The convention would be ratified shortly," Mukherjee told reporters in Kolkata. India was yet to ratify the convention mainly due to domestic legal hassles.
