DAR-ES-SALAAM: Indian President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam wound up a four-day goodwill visit to Tanzania with the two countries set to cooperate in areas like IT and agriculture. Responding to a proposal by Kalam on agriculture, Tanzania has agreed to earmark a large area of land for India to operate a model farm, from which Tanzanian farmers can learn and emulate good agriculture techniques. India has also promised to assist Tanzania in small-scale industries, health, education and information technology. India has also waived past loans worth 400 million ($9 million) to Tanzania. Tanzania will support India's bid to be a member of the UN Security Council. It appreciated India's peace bid in the subcontinent, strongly condemning terrorism in any form. Kalam also sent a strong message for the force of youth, which he said was common between the two nations, and promised abiding friendship to Tanzania in its march of progress. "One important aspect that stands out predominantly between the two countries, India and Tanzania, is youth power," Kalam said in a message to Tanzanian citizens at the close of his visit. "Definitely I realise the biggest resource for our countries is the ignited mind of the youth. It is the most powerful resource on earth, above the earth and under the earth." Promising abiding friendship to one of the world's poorest countries, Kalam said with "god's grace and people's will to work for the great mission of prosperity, I am sure the people of Tanzania will achieve great heights of development".
