India to receive biggest salary hike in 2010

The survey, which covered more than 2,000 local and joint-venture companies in the Asia-Pacific region, also states that salaries or annual guaranteed pay this year in Asia's fast-growing economic powerhouses China and India, at 4.5 percent and 6.3 percent respectively, were the lowest since 2005.
Salaries barely grew at all in Hong Kong and Japan, this year as companies cut staff, reports Reuters. More than 60 percent of companies surveyed in Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore froze wage levels, compared with only 26.1 percent in India and 30.8 percent in China.
Next year, only six percent of companies in India and 8.3 percent in China expect to freeze pay compared with 12-14 percent of companies in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.

This is absolutely truth. India\'s condition about salary wil be better to better in coming days very soon. Except some compaies all the companies will have to do hike thier salaries because government has increased their employees\'s salary both the states & central governments departments also. Salary increases will take place only in IT companies & not in manufacturing sector. As essential commodities are sky-rocketing there is a need for better salaries but Government sector's salaries were increased for vote-catching only (though they get more bribes compared to their salary). Nothing to rejoice for the common man.

I am going back to India! That is where all the good paying jobs are now and with news today about salary increases, I am going to start packing my bags right after I finish writing this.

The best thing the govt. could do is, the relaxation of taxes on the individuals are salaried - since this are the sectors which are effected in both ways - pay tax at source, also pay the tax when purchase on commodities. The slab of tax relaxation to 1.5 lakhs are so is a way of slapping this salaried community.
At least now the economist could think on the merchandiser making hell of moneys' which are dealt under tables.

I think this message is only for reading. No salary hike in future as expected, since these all depends on the Market, Foreign trade/ projects,so, we can't expect the hike in fixed form. we must study the countries profile, those mainly outsourcing the jobs/projects, drasticly ideas/view are changing on INDIA by foreign countries. we must study these day-by-day and then.............It may seen the firms may cut jobs further.

Dont't know but smthng is 4 sure. the salary & the salary hikes in IT sectors is not good & ppl r always finding Govt. jobs better . So IT should abt think this twice :-)

This could be a good news for Indian employees, if the statistics are correct then it proves that Indian companies are really doing well. But the hike will never reach to the large percentage of Indian empolyees only few will be lucky and really enjoy the hike!

Even today's condition I have seen people getting hike (moving to other organization) with 50% to 60% hike so you don't need to wait for 2010.
