NEW DELHI: India today said it would hold a series of bilateral talks with key players in the next few months to try and complete Doha Round of trade negotiations by 2006 end. "The WTO Mini-Ministerial to be held in Davos on the sidelines of World Economic Forum meeting Jan 24-29 will be followed up by a bilateral meeting with European Union in London on Jan 30-31," Commerce Minister Kamal Nath said. India forced the developed countries to agree to phase out the contentious export subsidies in the farm sector by 2013, enabling a deal at the WTO Ministerial in Hong Kong in December 2005, leading to forward movement in the stalled world trade talks. After the European Union, India would have bilateral talks with the U.S. and some developing countries to work towards another Ministerial with all the major players by June for finalizing the modalities, Nath said.
