NEW DELHI: India will attend the meeting of finance ministers of the Group of Seven industrialized nations in London on Feb. 4, finance ministry sources said Thursday. It is for the first time, India will be a part of the G7 meeting. Sources said the invitation was a clear indication of the important role India, one of the fastest growing country in the world is playing in the international economy. The G7 comprises the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Britain, which is chairing the group this year. Inviting Delhi to the London talks could thus be seen as building an institutional bridge between the G7 and G20.
