NEW DELHI:The government is targeting creation of around 50 million employment opportunities during the 10th plan period, a minister said. The emphasis of jobs would be on labor-intensive sectors such as agriculture, irrigation, agro-forestry, small and medium enterprises, information communication technology, tourism and other services, Labor Minister Chandrashekhar Rao said. He said the National Rural Employment Guarantee Bill, introduced in Parliament, provides for 100 days of employment in a year for poor families in rural areas.
