India puts BHEL stake sale on hold

NEW DELHI: India has put its plans to sell 10 percent in engineering firm Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. on hold for administrative reasons and the government will not sell its residual stake in Maruti Udyog for now, a minister said on Friday. "It is on hold for administrative reasons. I cannot give you the reason," Heavy Industries Minister Santosh Mohan Deb told reporters. "For the time being, we are not pursuing residual sale in Maruti.
