India among top five e-mail, internet aware country

BANGALORE:A recent international report has placed India among the top five countries familiar with Internet and e-mail. The International Business Owners Survey 2005 conducted by Grant Thornton, U.K. said India is just not the country that works on technology but also one where businesses are comfortable using both the email and Internet. Around 70 percent of the businesses surveyed in India believed that e-mail and the Internet have helped increase their revenues. India is laso among the top three with the average amount of time businessmen spend on e-mails, which is around 2 hours daily, Grant Thornton said. The survey in India was conducted among medium sized companies or those that employed 100-1000 people. It included private and public companies across several sectors including manufacturing, business services and construction.
