India, Pakistan home secretary talks begin

New Delhi: The home secretaries of India and Pakistan began talks here Monday to discuss issues like counter-terrorism measures, visa rules, drug trafficking and counterfeit currency notes. The talks are being led by Indian Home Secretary G.K. Pillai and his Pakistani counterpart Chaudhry Qamar Zaman. The Indian side is also represented by internal security Special Secretary U.K. Bansal and National Investigation Agency chief S.C. Sinha. The talks, going on at a luxury hotel here, are likely to continue till 5 p.m., sources said. Pakistan's Ambassador Shahid Malik was also seen at the first home secretary level talks between the two sides since the 2008 Mumbai attack. Sources said the two sides are also expected to discuss issues related jailed fishermen in India and Pakistan.
