PORT-OF-SPAIN: In a bid to promote bilateral trade with Trinidad and Tobago, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organise a 10-day trade fair in the Caribbean nation next month. As many as 90 Indian companies will put on display their products at the Enterprise India Expo from June 4, India's High Commissioner Virendra Gupta said on Friday. "The idea behind this major trade initiative is to further enlighten Trinidad and Tobago's consumers about India's quality consumer goods," he said. Enterprise India Expo has been earlier held in 13 countries worldwide, and Trinidad is the 14th destination. Items on display and for sale will include health care products, textiles, electrical items, kitchen appliances, furniture, hotel equipment, leather products, sports goods and home furnishings. "The objective is to facilitate greater exchanges, joint venture arrangements, technology transfer, enhance trade and commerce between the two countries," Gupta said. The Indian High Commission here is assisting CII in organising the fair, he added. Bilateral trade between India and Trinidad and Tobago has crossed $50 million mark over the last three years.
