BEIJING:India has launched its first determined bid to enter the huge, largely untapped and resource-rich western China market, including Tibet and the maiden venture has received positive response, official sources said here today. Along with the Indian embassy in China, major Indian companies including L&T, Ranbaxy, TCS and NIIT showcased their technological and scientific prowess for the first time at the just-concluded Sixth Western China International Economy & Trade Fair held in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan province. "This was the first-ever comprehensive package presentation of India's capabilities in China's western region," commercial and economic councilor of the Indian embassy, Vinay Kwatra said. The trade seminar held as part of the fair was attended by some 100 senior Chinese executives and entrepreneurs who nearly mobbed and sought details of Indian high-tech companies and software giants, he claimed.
