India 9th in top 10 largest industrialized economies

Bangalore: China has become the second largest industrial manufacturer in the world, says a United Nations Industrial Development Organization report. According to the report 'International Yearbook of Industrial Statistics 2010', two more developing countries - India and Brazil - figure in the list of top 10 industrial manufacturers globally at the ninth and tenth positions.

Germany ranks fourth, followed by France, the United Kingdom, Italy and Russia. "With this development, China unseats Japan and is trailing behind the United States," UNIDO said.It added that China's share of the global total of manufacturing value (MVA) was at 15.6 percent, slightly higher than Japan, which stands at 15.4 percent.
The United States maintains its number one spot at 19 percent. While China has a lead in absolute amount of production, the UN also pointed out that Japan is still the world's most industrialised country, in terms of MVA per capita, totaling nearly $9,000 compared to $700 for China. The three countries, U.S., China and Japan produce half of the world's manufacturing output, UNIDO said.

1: World records shows that Poverty in India is
widespread with the nation estimated to have
a third of the world's poor. Does it make
sense India 9th in top 10? Are we not hiding
our inefficiency? Lets unite ourselves to
balance the economy. Not just concentrate on
one part, their rapid growth of millionaires
is evitable. Dont weaken the poor for the
cause of blurdy rankings. Weekness of others
cannot be accepted as a victory and i hate
the fact that victory is taken from one's
defeat

3: Indian can go upto third or fourth place
efforlessly if and only if corruption at all
levels is minimised.there are many Indians
who have ideas skills and experience but
cannot pool up the required capital, banks
help influential people but not the needy and
deserving entrepreneurs.

8: It is amazing to see that even though India
is still a developing country and not yet
considered in the elite group but still the
dogs of India (courtsey nonsense Indian
Education System) are barking like anything.
I am wondering what would happen if India
becomes a super power (though the possibility
is remote) one day, then the dogs would bark
would become roar of a lion and it would be
impossible for the sensible human beings to
have a peaceful and friendy cohabitance with
these treacherous creatures (read dogs) and
the human being would go into oblivion and
thereby would create a planet ruled by
mediocre animals who love fighting agianst
each other.

I am a Sinhalese (Buddhist) from Sri Lanka and thought of writing a word here....
Don't just insult a country just because you don't understand the economic history of the world. As far as I know... India around 17oo(Under Mughal Empire) accounted for 25% of worlds GDP along with Chinese Empire accounting for nearlt 30 % of world GDP. They were far ahead of the rest of the world as sophisticated countries at that era. West was no where around in economic or military power at that time but gained prominance thanks to industrial revolution.
Now, India is being industralized in a rapis phase and will catch up the west even in per capita basis in due course. The theory is that the country with a relatively large population become relatively stronger when similar methods(technology) is used for production of goods and services......

16: Drawbacks of Indian Education system which
are responsible for producing dam-witted
person like Nishanth:
Today is the age of innovation and specialisation. And with this fast moving techno-age, the Indian educational system seems to go nowhere. Though we are aware about the progressive minds of Indian students all over the world, we tend to overlook the fact that most of them find abode abroad in USA or Australia. Let us focus on some stark realities.
Indian education is full of innumerable pages of obsolete, outdated theory with no innovation or any practical work. The eagerly awaited new textbooks have nothing more than flashier cover pages. Moreover no importance is given to co-curricular activities. All this results in an all Indian sundae comprising of bored students who consider studies as an interminable disease and teachers who are victims of disinterest. This also increases suicides among students.
It is high time educationists start moving with the times. They need to realise that they can no longer continue to burden the youth with unimaginable pressure and simultaneously provide miniscule encouragement to pursue their creativity. An entirely new approach has to be adopted which focuses upon innovation and practical aspects of education. And the sooner this reform is brought, the better it is for us. The writer is a 16-year-old student.

17:A totally agree with the pathetic state of
our education system. I myself am facing the
brunt, my son is a maths prodigy, and did his
IGCSE Maths at the age of 11 with grade A*, A
level paper at the same age with grade C, and
this time at the age of 14 with 95%. While
the british system picked up Arran Fernandez
for similar achievements, I can not even
think about any Indian university picking him
up. Even I am clueless about how to proceed
further, Indina system will do him no good,
while studies abroad are prohibitively
expensive.

19: Nice article, felt good after reading it.
However I have "accidentally" read the
following Reader comments and realized that
few people can argue on almost anything and
everything. Now I thought of putting the
facts together:
1. America - The first residents of what is now the United States immigrated from Asia prior to 15,000 years ago. America was nothing more than a colony for the Europeans after Christopher Columbus (a European) reached there in 1493. So the bottom line is that the Americans are the successors of Asian or European people who had migrated years back. Right now it is the number one country in most the fields, but no one is here to remain number one forever. They should not waste their time and energy into useless stuffs otherwise it would be difficult for them to hold their position as China is progressing quickly to be number one.
2. Pakistan - On August 14, 1947 Pakistan is separated from India because of the political interests of the two parties. Pakistan is mostly ruled by military presidents (dictator), who forcibly turned down the ruling government to take control. Overall it’s a nice country, with lot of talent and humanity however again due to political reasons (involving international politics) they have thrown themselves into terrorism. The only question is "Are they getting anything out of it", I guess "NO". If you are a Pakistani, ask yourself, whether you will grow by supporting and nourishing terrorism and by blaming any neighboring nation for that, if yes then go on and try it man. You anyway have wasted lot of lives for the terrorism. We people are not against you, we just want peace in our country.
3. China – Well done China, you people are growing because you people don’t waste your time and energy in needless arguments.
4. India – India is a country with lot of promising talent and focused youth. Indians usually restrain themselves from useless fights not because they are afraid but because they are brave enough to sustain their emotions and use it for the betterment of everyone.
5. World – In some or other way, we all Earthians should learn the fact that we all share a brotherhood. We should stop involving ourselves into terrorism, fraud, offensiveness, racism, and all other bad practices.
You cannot portray yourself as a winner just because your country has done something good. Ask yourself, “What your contribution is” Try to be constructive and stop being destructive.
Dear Fellow Indians, what will you do if you are walking down the road and a stray dog bites you. I am sure you won't bite him back, so leave Mac, Asif, Ken (and people with the same mental condition) on their own... trust me, they don’t belong to any nation… and most importantly we won't get anything by defeating them, let’s not waste time...

Diversity is beautiful and should be respected and cherished.
This country classification is just political divide, for a time only.
Wait for the day when there is no country specific GDP. Everyone can work every where and receive similar education system. there will always be rich and poor people, that's another name of diversity, everyone should be respected.
so everyone should read the article written above and try to see how they can benefit from this development.
Most of the opinion and inferences I found here are incorrect.

And next time write in lower case, note it down reading in upper case always takes more time... and u showed a concern for conserving "The time factory".

list. If you define the definition of rich
persons depend on per day income…. that is
fully wrong. The exact definition of rich
person depends on satisfaction, moral, living
principle, honesty, ethics, understandable of
person problems. In this point of view
India always great and giving to lessons to

Indians are begger, they are the most
corrupted human being (only the pakistanis
can be compared with them) in the world
having a weak and sick mind and they can only
increase the population nothing else. They
are the leader of the third world and inspite
of that they are very proud of them. They do
not understand their limitation and are happy
in thinking that they are the best. Here I
have seen people talking about Indian unity
but the reality is that they are the most
ununited nation in the world. That is why we
could witness people are demanding for
seperate telegana state, the thackerays are
shouting to eradicate the north indians from
maharashtra. These kind of disharmony and
betrayal are quite evident even in the past
and became a tradition i.e. why the muslims
and the british were able to invade india,
conquer india and rule india for such a long
period of time. They are so weak that after
getting constant threat from the pakistanis
and the chinese and knowing that they are
responsible for all the terror attacks in
india, they are afraid of taking any concrete
action against these countries. Their
inefficency and lack of imagination is
evident from the current world cup hockey
that they are organizing. It is being
considered by the media as the most
mismanaged event to have ever occured. The
Indians are very greedy. It can be seen that
IIT and IIM graduates are only eager to take
top MNC jobs with high pay package rather
then devoting their time to do for the
betterment of the coutry with a reseanoable
relatively low pay package. Amir Khan has
rightly portrayed the indians in his movie 3
idiots where the education is system is based
on getting good grades rather than
application of mind. Life is just a profit
and loss statement to the Indians and that is
the reason why they are so dishonest and
corrupt. For the advancement of their career
they can take any cheap and dirty routes.
