India 3rd most preferred destination for FDI

NEW DELHI:Global Investors are viewing India as a third most preferred investment destination of the world with the Foreign Direct Investments inflow during the current fiscal up to November 2004 stood at $ 3,507 M. Minister of State for Finance S S Palani Manickam said world perception had positively viewed India as a preferred destination for FDI inflows because of its capability as a business process, IT Services provider and Research and Development with a long term market potential. The FDI investment during the corresponding period last year was $ 2,363 million. He said the FDI confidence index for 2004 survey of the CEO conducted by AT Kearney, a Global management consultancy firm India was the third most attractive destination in the world after China and United States.
