Thiruvananthapuram: Following the visit of a 35-member industrial delegation from Italy, which toured the state Technopark campus here Monday, discussions have begun to set up a business incubation centre between the Technopark and Italian companies. Speaking to IANS, M. Vasudevan, business manager at Technopark, said that Monday's visit was just a curtain raiser meant for familarising the Technopark's activities to the delegation. "This visit has been a great boost. The state government would work out a plan to set up a business incubation centre to facilitate discussions to see that Italian companies come to the Technopark," said Vasudevan The Technopark currently houses more than 75 IT and IT-enabled companies that employ more than 12,000 people. The Italian delegation comprising young CEOs represents various industries such as IT, tourism, real estate, food processing, construction and engineering. They held discussions with the Technopark authorities and also exchanged ideas with CEOs of various companies in the Technopark. The Italian delegation is led by Roney Simon, director of FICCI's (Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry's) Italy office and has been in the state capital for the past three days. The visit has been organised by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corp with help from Kerala's private sector.
