Bangalore: ITC Infotech Ltd, a global IT services firm of ITC group, has successfully deployed a software solution to manage customer relationships for Finnair, Finland's largest airline, the company said here Thursday. With Infotech's software tool, Finnair becomes the world's first airline to shift from a frequent flyer management system to an analytical CRM (customer relationship management) solution, the Bangalore-based company said in a statement. "It is the first of its kind CRM-based loyalty solution in the world being implemented for the airlines industry. The loyalty system will enable Finnair to serve its customers effectively by improving reporting, analysis and decision support for efficient operations and management," Infotech managing director Sanjiv Puri said. The company, however, did not disclose project cost or projected annual revenue from the airline for the solution. "We have signed a five-year multimillion dollar deal with Finnair last year for implementing its frequent flyer loyalty programme, e-ticketing and other operational application systems," said Puri. Finnair e-business development vice-president Tom Kallstrom said the airline's loyalty programme was automated this week with the CRM solution to offer a host of new services to its passengers worldwide. "Infotech's CRM capabilities, customer focus and flexibility make it a strategic technology partner for us," said Kallstrom. As one of the world's oldest operating airlines, the 84-year-old Finnair operates passenger and cargo services to 16 domestic and 50 overseas destinations daily. The Helsinki-based airline also provides travel agency services, catering, package tours and aircraft maintenance. Although the Finnish government holds a majority stake (58 percent) in the airline, it is a part of the OneWorld Alliance, in which British Airways and American Airlines are strategic partners. Finnair commenced a daily service from Mumbai to Helsinki in June and from New Delhi in October, making the Indian capital the 10th Asian destination to operate direct flights.
