SAN JOSE: I-S-Cubed Inc., a provider of secure keys for network-connected devices, said it appointed Ramesh Sekar as chief financial officer. Sekar, who will manage finance, investor relations, IT, legal and human resource operations, was most recently a senior vice president and the chief financial officer of Teros Inc. Before that, he was the CFO and vice president of finance and administration at Perfect Commerce Inc. He has also served as the senior director of sales operations at Portal Software Inc. and the vice president and finance at Sybase Inc. I-S-Cubed specializes in the financial services industry, for which it provides cryptographic key management solutions. For example, it has developed SecureOMS, a server-based security technology that automates and streamlines the management of keys, PIN's and devices, thereby reducing costs, improving security and allowing financiers to comply with regulations. The San Jose-based company raised a $9.1 million Series B round of financing in September 2003, which was led by new investor Menlo Ventures and included other new investors BV Capital, Visa, Asset Management and existing investors Capital Plus, Innostream and TLC. Previously, I-S-Cubed raised a $2 million Series A in January 2000.
