Mumbai: It's hard luck for management aspirant students in India as IIMs and major Business schools in the country are looking to increase the fees. IIM Calcutta (IIM-C) has decided to increase the fee. IIM-C is likely to raise its course fee for the two-year post graduate program (PGP), reported Business Standard. The hike is on the light of a deficit of around 1.5 incurred per students per year and salary increases for faculty. IIM-C is expected to hike its fee from 3.5 lakh to Rs 4 lakh for this academic year. IIM-Bangalore has raised its fee for PGDM course from Rs 1.75 lakh per annum to Rs 2.5 lakh per annum. IIM Indore would also increase its annual fee from 1.50 lakh to 1.90 lakh. However, IIM-Kozikkode is not planning to increase the fee this year. The institute had increased its fee for the PGP course from Rs 1.15 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh last year. The other Business schools in India are also looking to review their fees structure. The Indian School of Business (ISB) is planning to hike fee from 13.65 lakh to 14 lakh for its flagship one-year management program and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Mumbai is expected to increase its fee from 1.45 lakh to 1.75 lakh per annum. Similarly, SP Jain Institute of Management Studies (SPJIMR) Mumbai has already increased its fee for MBA program from 1.75 lakh to 2 lakh per annum. Xavier's Institute of Management (XIM) Bhubaneshwar will raise fee for its two-year business management program from 3.96 lakh to Rs 4.35 lakh.
