IIIT-H developing three product-based ideas

Bangalore: The International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) is involved in developing three product-based ideas, said Rajeev Sangal, IIIT-H Director. The three product-based ideas include - Dristicare a tool to analyze images of retina for diabetics, the second is music feature analysis and the third Sethus, a text-to-speech and speech-to-text product for English and 23 Indian languages. Sangal said, "The three products are in the field test and development stage and are expected to see progress in the next one year. Social applications of our research are also very important for us. The agricultural advisory system of eSagu has been helping thousands of farmers earn more from their crops for over four years. The project itself is being considered for launch all over the country." He also said that the graduating batch of BTech, MTech, MS by research, PhD and MSIT programme have 305 pass outs. According to him, as many as 41 companies visited the campus and made job offers to the graduating students. "The institute witnessed a 100 percent placement of its graduating batch. However, it has registered the highest average compensation of 6 lakh, as against last year's 7 lakh, due to the slowdown in the IT sector," he added.
