I-Flapp launches portable application storage device, Apps-D

Bangalore: I-Flapp Technologies, a Singapore based start-up technology company, unveiled AppsD (Application on Demand), a unique portable solution for storage devices. The product is expected to revolutionize the personal computing market by squeezing most PC's desktop applications onto external storage medias like SD card, USB pen drive, and hardware drive disk. Apps-D, a software encrypted 64MB pendrive, enables user to carry popular applications like Photoshop CS2 9.0, complete suite of Microsoft office 2003/XP, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and mail clients like Microsoft Outlook (2003/XP) and Lotus notes among others. Occupying a minimal space of 9MB, Apps-D provides ample scope for usage in smaller storage devices. The user-friendly software needs no special system configuration making it flexible for any kind of workspace. Explaining further the product's benefits, Sourabh Srivastav, COO, I-Flapp Technologies said, " Apps-D is the perfect answer the ever demanding need of portability by the professionals, it not only allows the user to carry their application but also host of other information like mail clients, music and internet favorite". I-Flapp targets a wide range of consumers from designers, IT professionals, mangers, business travelers, teachers, students and gamers to name a few. Briefing the media, Sunder Mani, Founder and CEO, I-Flapp technologies said," The company is targeting a $3 billion global end user market. The product is being launched in India, China, Singapore, South Africa, US, France and Germany. Apart from this Apps-D will also be sold via internet through secured gateways". The company expects initial sales of 1.5 million copies through all channels with expected revenue of approximately $14 million. "India should contribute to five percent of the revenue. We are also going to seal a partnership with one of India's largest technology groups to resell this product in India and other partners for various geographies in the next month", added Sunder. Two variants of Apps-D are available at $35 and $40. Upgraded versions of Apps-D will be released over the period of next two months. Started and promoted by Indian technocrats, I-Flapp has its headquarters in Singapore and R&D center in Bangalore.
