IBM to offer manufacturing facility in Singapore

Bangalore: IBM, a technology giant had opened a $90 million manufacturing facility in Singapore for high end servers. It was noticed that this manufacturing facility was only one of a few facilities worldwide with others located in France and U.S.
It was expected that it would be meeting growing demand for business analytics and cloud computing. It was informed that in the past 4 months, IBM's fourth new manufacturing facility aimed on the development of high-end systems and the centre would be involving manufacturing and testing its System Z mainframes and high-end power systems.
Ron Adkins, Senior VP, Systems and Technology, IBM said that that they could view the opportunity from where they could pull out insights from data that was generated from things that they did not usually associate with as being a computer.
"This generation of data, we think is going to help transform industry and market opportunities. So analytics will continue to play a key role and that is one of our major activities. Next generation data is in cloud computing - we think that this is an opportunity if you look at the evolution of computing," said Adkins.
