Chicago: Indo-American Democratic Organization elected Harendra Mangrola, a noted Indian American businessman and a community activist, as the president of the three-decade-old political forum of Indian Americans with an overwhelming majority, reports India Tribune. Mangrola attained 65 percent of the total votes casted by the members of the organization and was declared elected along with other office bearers. The new team consists of Shreenivas Katragadda as VP, Gledson Varghese as Secretary, Jawahar Reddy as Joint Secretary, Sean Chaudhury as Treasurer, and Dr. Ram Gajjella as Executive Director of which Mangrola will be the President. Mangrola who was reluctant to join the election fraywas motivated by IADO members since his presence at the helm was important during the current uncertain economic conditions and volatile political situation, especially when Chicago is scheduled to elect its new Mayor and the 2012 Presidential elections being round the corner. Mangrola is also heading a globally spread socio religions organization - Gayatri Pari-war - for its Chiicagoland operations. He has been successful in mentoring this organization from zero level four years ago to its present status hosting many an activity for the community and the second generation Indian Americans.
