IACF Gifts $120,000 to Benefit Area Organizations

Bangalore: The Indo American Charity Foundation (IACF), an Houston based non-profit charitable organization  presented an amount of $120,000 to representatives of various organizations at an event held at India House on February 3.The event was co-hosted by David Raj, President of IACF and his board of directors.

Recipients of the donations handed over by IACF included the starving and the underprivileged, women and children, health and education sectors and diverse organizations such as Houston Area Women’s Center, City of Houston Scholarships, Indian Senior Citizens Association (ISCA), Indian American Cancer Network (IACAN), Indian Doctor’s Clinic and many more.

Some of the donors who came up to the stage to present the checks were-Savita and Sanjay Rao, Nasir and Farida Walji, Swatantara and Bimla Jain, Nat and Leela Murthy, Sangeeta and Arun Pasrija, and Sushma Bhan.

Raj acknowledged the representatives of the beneficiary organizations. “You are the reason for our existence,” said Raj. “You will find as you look back on your life that the moments that stand out are those when you’ve done things for others. With the help of my committed and dynamic board, we are in the process of building and expanding on what our predecessors have bequeathed us,” he said.

The organization, IACF was founded in the year 1988 by a group of Indian origins settled in Houston. They started with the mission to help starving people and later on extended their services by providing help to those in need of education, human services and medical facilities.
