Hughes Network lands $15m order from Inmarsat

MUMBAI: Hughes Network Systems on Monday said it has been awarded a $15 million contract by Inmarsat to design and develop mobile satellite terminals with voice and 3G-compatible broadband data capabilities via Inmarsat's Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN). The HNS-BGAN terminals will be an IP based local area network (LAN) access point that will support BGAN data rates upto 432 Kbps (bi-directional) with Universal Mobile Telecommunication Systems (UMTS) compatibility, an HNS release said here.
