Huawei India appoints Justin Chen as COO
Bangalore: Justin Chen is the new Chief Operating Officer of Huawei Technologies India (HTIPL), the company's largest R&D facility outside of China, focused on developing telecom core platforms and end-to-end telecom solutions. As the COO of Huawei's India R&D center, Chen is committed to delivering on the company's vision and developing its long-term investment and strategic plan for India. His main focus will be on enhancing HTPIL's position as the most competitive R&D center within Huawei, promoting end-to-end ownership of products, and establishing it as an important center in Software & Service domain. Prior to his appointment, Chen was the position of Director of Message & Application department of Huawei Software Company in Shenzhen. He joined Huawei in 1997, and has held several senior positions across different divisions in Huawei and has been instrumental in the successful deployment of Huawei's cutting edge solutions globally. In his over 12 years career with Huawei, Justin was engaged in a wide range of functions such as development, test, system design and market technical support, which enriched his experience on quality management, development management, people management and a deeper understanding of customers. Hailing from Chongqing province, Chen holds an Engineering Master's Degree in Survey & Information Science from Central South University of Technology in China, specializing in the area of GIS. He succeeds George Huang, who has returned to the parent company to take up new responsibilities in the Consumer Service Product Line, after a stint of over three years in HTIPL.
