BANGALORE: With the City playing host to important events like the IBM Analyst meet, NasscomÂ’s ITeS-BPO Summit and Bangalore Bio 2006, hotels in Bangalore are going to witness boost through this week. Over 100 international delegates and 350 delegates from other Indian cities are attending the Nasscom summit. At the Bio 2006 event, organizers are expecting over 70 national and international speakers, 500 conference delegates and over 20,000 business visitors from within the city. Numbers are big, considering that the total inventory of five-star deluxe and four-star deluxe hotel is around 1,500 and total approved rooms in the city are more than 2,600 including three and four star hotels. Paucity of rooms means good business for serviced apartments. Though occupancy in service apartment is not driven, the short stay roomsÂ’ apartments are registering 60 to 80 percent occupancy this week. Arjun Baljee, President, Royal Orchid Hotels says the bookings for these three events were made much in advance.
