Honda's small car 'Jazz' to be launched next year

New Delhi: The small car segment within the fast-growing auto industry in India will hot up further with Japanese major Honda saying Thursday that its "Jazz" will be launched next year. "Our company has plans to launch Jazz by the end of 2009," Honda Siel India president M. Takadagawa told reporters on the inaugural day of the Auto Expo here, where the car was displayed at their pavilion. "We are also pleased to launch the CR-V 2 litre in India. This new model of the CR-V is sporty, agile and gives good mileage." The second generation Jazz was recently named the Japanese Car of 2007-08. It was first introduced in 2001 and has been praised for its stylish exteriors and spacious interiors, besides the fuel efficiency that Japanese cars are famous for. The company has also displayed it all new "Accord" that is due to be commercially launched in India later this year. The Accord is the company's flagship brand in India in the luxury car segment that also seeks to extend fuel economy. A total of 17 vehicles, representing 10 different models, including those that are already in the Indian market, have been showcased by Honda at the Auto Expo.
