Himachal company to make 8.8 mn profit

SHIMLA: A state-run power company has signed an agreement with the Indian government that makes it obligatory to earn a profit of 8.8 million in the financial year beginning Thursday. The SJVN, or Satlej Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd, signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the federal ministry of power Tuesday. The agreement has set various performance targets for SJVN. These include a revenue realisation of 11.8 billion and gross profit of 8.8 billion in the 2004-05 financial year.
