Highest Selling Cars of September 2012

Bangalore: The month of September proved good for three major car manufacturers- Maruti, Hyundai and Mahindra. But the greater part of the catalog was piling up discounts, hoping to boost up their automobile sales, as there was no other significant announcement from the automobile industry.

It’s certain that the car makers have no option left but to pin their hopes on the upcoming festive season. In September, the diesel prices went up by a whopping 5 – 6 rupees per liter, which made the cost parallel to what petrol prices where in April 2010. This development has set a recovery path for petrol-only cars like the WagonR, i10 and Eeco. With interest rates getting more and more flexible, the month of September was not more than an average deal for all the car producers.

From the sales figures sourced from Team-BHP, the resolute Indian-pride, Maruti has pumped up their sales near to 90k again. It was truly an impressive sale for Alto (21209 units) and WagonR (16456 units), considering the fact that they only have petrol variants to muscle them. The Ritz took a clear advantage over Swift’s long delivery period, as it recorded the highest sale in history (7598 units). Also some good news for Swift and Dzire bookies, as both has started getting itself into the market. Ertiga, Omni and Eeco did well in September. It’s pretty clear that the hatchback platform is all set to get more interesting with the launch of the revamped Alto 800.
