BANGALORE: According to software architecture product firm iCMG, software architects currently account for only around one percent of the total IT manpower in India as against 10 percent in the West; the demand for this new breed of professionals is set to soar. Sunil Dutt Jha, CEO of iCMG says, “Organizations that use software frameworks could reduce costs of over $500 million. Around 80 percent of the IT budget is spent on maintenance. Redesigning software architecture can reduce this. "It will increase the opportunities to collaborate with partners across multiple market segments and geographical boundaries." iCMG is a provider of software tools, solutions and services on software architecture. The company's product, K2 Component Server, is a SoA-based application server. SoA is a method of tuning IT solutions to suit business needs.
