Hewitt to open shop in Gurgaon for Fortune 500 firms

NEW DELHI: Global HR major Hewitt has zeroed in on India to meet the growing requirement of its Fortune 500 clients for business process outsourcing.
The US major has leased in 1,30,000 sqft of office space in Gurgaon to set up its first BPO operations outside North America and UK. Apart from serving the additional requirements of its US-based clients, the Gurgaon centre will also be used to expand the company's HR (BPO) business in Asia. The centre will also function as a hub for IT development of Hewitt's global operations.
Disclosing this here today, Hewitt's global COO of total benefits administration, Jim Konieczny said the Gurgaon office will house the company's consultancy business and would also provide back office support to the company's consultancy operations in other Asian countries.
