CHANDIGARH: Haryana will soon have an IT park with large investments from abroad to generate revenue and employment opportunities for the state, officials said Friday. Spread over an area of 125 acres, the park is likely to come up in the state's Panchkula district, adjoining this twin capital of Haryana and Punjab. Said a Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC) official Friday: "There are a large number of IT companies, including many from abroad who are interested in investing in the state because of its strong infrastructure." The official said HSIDC would offer a special package of incentives for industrial ventures with an investment of 3 billion and above. He said the package of incentives would depend on the potential of the proposed project to generate revenue and employment. IT enabled services would be given special preference, he added. The initiative for the IT park was taken by the governing body of the Society for Information Technology Initiative Fund for e-Governance.
