Happy teenagers are the healthier ones
Washington: The effect of emotional well being on the physical health of adolescents should not be underestimated as by seeing teenagers well being, their propensity to attract health issues can be identified. Emily Shaffer-Hudkins and her team, from the University of South Florida in the U.S. studied that adolescents' positive emotions and moods, and their satisfaction with life, could be more important than their anxiety or depression levels for predicting their physical health. Many research conducted so far have tried to prove the connection between mental and physical fitness in the youth. The study which had a sample size of 401 respondents and the teenagers had marked their satisfaction with life from both negative and positive perspectives. The positive perspective included with the fact that they felt excited, strong and proud whereas the negative perspective was taken as whether they felt lonely, guilty or sad. It was seen that, those who felt secluded, insecured, guilty, more anxious and depressed were less healthy compared to those who had positive approach towards life.
