Haier launches mobile phones

BANGALORE: Haier aims to capture a major chunk of the Indian mobile phone market, Haier India President and CEO T.K. Banerjee said. Speaking after launching mobile phones in Bangalore, he said the firm was confident of gaining a major share in the Indian mobile phone sector. Banerjee also said the firm was exploring the possibility of manufacturing handsets in India if there was enough market for their products. He also said the company will launch CDMA phones at a later stage and was talking to CDMA operators on the issue. The company today launched seven models of handsets in City. The range includes entrylevel phones beginning from 3645 to a Pen camera mobile phone priced at 14,940.
