NEW DELHI: Hewlett Packard, the market leader in printing, imaging and computing solutions, is seeking partners in India to expand its portfolio of services. The company is looking to expand its Indian base as a service provider "over and above the infrastructure solution competency", Peter Blackmore, Executive Vice President of Hewlett Packard Company, said here Monday. He detailed the company plans in an address before a forum of CEOs on 'Technology solutions for business success' organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry. Blackmore said his company would "continue to invest in India as the country's "huge skilled manpower provided an enormous potential" in the IT sector. "We would also look for partners for providing complete end-to-end services," Blackmore said. IT would be the strategic driver for the future, and technology would be one of the building blocks in the company's plans, he added. "The marriage of technology with software and services and strategic partnering would bring out the best-of-the-breed solution that would provide the competitive edge." Blackmore cited server and storage consolidation as well as their integration with customer relationship management as an example of synergy between technology, software and services. He said existing investment elements like database and network would also have to be taken care of. "Such challenges open doors for better management effectiveness." The IT industry, like telecom, was going through a period of global adjustment. This called for a much faster return on investment with cost as a major factor, he added.
