BANGALORE: Hewlett-Packard (HP) expects its StorageWorks Enterprise File Services family of Wide Area Network (WAN) accelerators to be adopted on a large scale in India and the Asia-Pacific region. HP Singapore’s Vice-President & General Manager, StorageWorks division, Enterprise Storage and Servers, Asia Pacific, T K Chan said, “We expect the oil and gas, retail and telecommunication companies (Telcos) to adopt WAN accelerators on a large scale in India.” He was speaking to a media organization at the sidelines of the HP StorageWorks conference recently in Malaysia. China, on the other hand, was showing slow interest in the software. WAN accelerator software enables companies to consolidate information from remote sites and data centers. This enables centralized data management and protection.
