NEW DELHI: HP Global e-Business Operations said it plans to add about 2,000 people to its India operations over the next 18 months, and is looking at Tier-II cities to set up additional centers. The company’s Director-India Business Centers, Global eBusiness Operations, Sanjay Singh said, “At present in India, we have 6,000 employees spread across two centers in Bangalore and Chennai. We are now looking at tier-II cities for setting up new centers over the next 12 months.” Some of the potential locations on the radar of HP are Goa, Vizag, Jaipur, and Coimbatore, he said. The company is yet to identify the final location. The Indian operations form a part of the global delivery network. Singh said, “The capabilities the new centres would handle depend on the final locations that we select.” However he refused to give any details about the investment earmarked for setting up the new centers. Commenting on the headcount growth, Singh said HP Global is aiming to add about 2,000 professionals to its Indian operations in the next 18 months.
