HCL's distribution arm launches tablet computer in India

NEW DELHI: HCL Frontline, the distribution arm of HCL Infosystems, Thursday announced the launch of Toshiba's tablet personal computer (PC) in India. The new Portégé 3500 Series Tablet PC is priced at 200,000 and comes with a three-year international warranty, said an HCL press statement issued here. "As Toshiba's distribution partners in India, HCL Frontline is dedicated to bringing the latest products from the Toshiba stable to our customers in India," said Rajendra Kumar, vice president of HCL Infosystems Ltd. "The launch of Portégé 3500 Series Tablet PC is a significant step taken in this direction and we are confident this revolutionary product will soon become an indispensable tool for executives on the move," he added. Toshiba's Portégé 3500 Series comes with integrated wireless connectivity options and networking so users can share information and access Internet connections from any location. "The product is a direct result of listening to our customers and delivering a product that will add functionality to the traditional notebook," said Wu Tengguo, general manager (computer systems division) of Toshiba Singapore. "With enhanced functionality and capabilities offered by the Portégé 3500 Series, mobile customers in India will now experience their PC in new and exciting ways."
