HCL to Provide IT Services to U.S. Insurance Group

Bangalore: Leading Indian software major, HCL Technologies, entered into a strategic partnership with Great American Insurance Group (GAIG) to provide IT, back office and infrastructure management services to the U.S. major and its affiliates. "The alliance with GAIG will enhance our capabilities and help us create a differentiated value proposition in the insurance industry, especially in the commercial specialty sector, enabling us to target a wider audience," Rahul Singh, HCL Technologies President (financial services), said in a statement. The insurance practice of the $3.9 billion HCL has been built on domain expertise with application and process optimization capabilities across the quote-to-claim cycle. "The tie-up will also position us as a preferred partner for insurance firms in North America and enable us to tap emerging business opportunities in the financial sector globally," said Singh. HCL's investment in product assets, intellectual property and dedicated insurance solution development centres helps insurers address myriad of business challenges. "With the global macroeconomic environment creating new challenges, organizations in financial services sectors are focused on innovating IT landscape and operations. The strategic relationship with HCL will support our transformation efforts," Piyush Singh, GAIG Chief Information Officer, said in the statement. The Cincinnati-based GAIG focuses on specialty commercial products for businesses and sells traditional fixed and indexed annuities, besides insurance products such as Medicare supplement.
