HCL bags $100M deal from Autodesk

DELHI: HCL Technologies has bagged a multi-year contract from Autodesk worth $100 million to provide offshore application and data center services to the American company. The contract begin from February 2006 and runs till February 2011. The company won the contract against stiff competition from companies like IBM, HP, Accenture and Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), besides Wipro, Infosys and Satyam. It is the single biggest order ever received by HCL group in remote IT infrastructure management space, the company sources said. A big chunk of the project will be executed by its subsidiary company, HCL Comnet. The company’s remote infrastructure management accounts for around 27 percent of HCL Tech’s net sales revenue of $761.63 million in year ending June ’05. The agreement covers application administration, software configuration management, monitoring, maintenance, technical support, support tools and utilities implementation. In addition, HCL will provide general infrastructure management that includes general operations and administration services, such as storage and data management, technical support and database administration.
