NEW DELHI: India's state-owned Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL), currently engaged in the development of sophisticated fighter jets and helicopters, has set itself an export target of 750 million. The target was fixed in a memorandum of understanding signed here Wednesday between the defence ministry and HAL. Defence Production and Supplies Secretary N.S. Sisodia and HAL chairman N.R. Mohanty signed the memorandum. According to the agreement, HAL is to achieve a turnover of 32.8 billion during the next year. The target for net profit after tax has been fixed at 2.76 billion. HAL tied up with Israel Aircraft Industries last month for marketing its home grown advanced light helicopter across the world. It is set to begin limited series production of the indigenously developed light combat aircraft.
