Bangalore: Guruji.com, first search engine from India founded by IIT Delhi graduates, announced the launch of search engines in Indian language. The first of launch will cover Hindi, Telugu and Kannada language search. Users will get accurate search results in their language and improve their search experience as well. The Desi search engine provides a simple but very effective language interface. Guruji.com has launched the most comprehensive Indian language search engine covering a range of specific content – news, entertainment, travel, astrology, literature, business, education and more. In the coming months the search engine will be launching it in other languages as well. Hindi being the national language and the most spoken language in India is the second most spoken language in the world. Around 500 million people speak Hindi in India and abroad, and the total number of people who understand the language is estimated to be around 800 million. More than 180 million people in India use Hindi as their first language while 300 million use it as a second language. Anurag Dod, Co-Founder & CEO, Guruji.com said, “What sets us apart is our focus on the Indian market and the Indian consumer. China has become a big Internet economy because of content availability and accessibility in local language. If India were to grow at the same rate, we need more focus on vernacular. It’s only then we would have truly empowered the Indian consumers”. Gaurav Mishra, Co-Founder & COO, Guruji.com explains that 90 percent of Internet search queries are local in nature, and Guruji.com will deliver better search results than any other search engine in these instances. The next wave of growth for Internet in India will be fuelled by the growth of vernacular content and the way it is accessed by consumers across the country and the Indian language search engine from guruji is a step in that direction.
