Gurpreet Sohal Elected as Postmaster of Fremont
Bangalore: Gurpreet Sohal, an Indian American was elected as postmaster of the Bay area city of Fremont, Calif. She was formally acknowledged in a ceremony which was held at the United States Postal Service office in Fremont on Dec.9th, 2011.
“I am very humbled and honored to serve as postmaster for the city of Fremont. I love that I am able to be in a position which enables me to help people and make a difference,” Gurpreet Sohal said.
She started working as a letter carrier in the year 1986. The beginning days of job for Gurpreet was just a way to support her family. But later on she developed passion for the job which made her realize that she could take this up as her career. In the year 2005, she became the post master of Moraga and later on she was appointed as the post master of Walnut Creek.
Gurpreet manages more than 270 employees in six different post offices in Fremont. She takes extreme pride in customer service .She also takes care of complaints of customers and makes sure that all the rules and regulations of the organization are maintained.
