Gujarat promised investments worth 515 bn

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat received investment promises worth 515 billion ($11 billion) during the inaugural of the Vibrant Gujarat global investors' summit Wednesday.Industrialists came forward to announce major investment plans for the state, making many wonder about the total investment the two-day meet would generate. "I was making rough calculations. The total figure of investments they have promised comes to around 515 billion," said Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Those who promised investment include the Essar group, the Videocon group, Larsen and Toubro, British Gas, the Torrent group, the Adani group, Arvind Mills, General Motors, Petronet LNG and Sanghi Industries.
