Guj Ambuja Q3 net jumps 22%

NEW DELHI: Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd, India's fourth-largest cement maker, said on Thursday its January-March 2003 net profit rose a higher-than-expected 22 per cent from a year earlier.
The firm said its third-quarter net profit was Rs 668.6 million or Rs 3.85 per diluted share, up from Rs 547.7 million or Rs 3.15 per share.
Net sales rose 27 per cent to Rs 5.47 billion from Rs 4.30 billion a year earlier.
