Bangalore: Retracting from its earlier stance on equal network access for all content providers, the U.S. based web search giant Google has reportedly approached the internet carriers to create a fast lane for its content. However, the companies are reluctant to comply with the search engine's deal as they violate the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) guidelines on network neutrality, reported Wall Street Journal. While the cable and telecom companies are supposed to maintain neutrality in treating internet traffic, the offer made by Google's proposal, called OpenEdge would place Google servers directly within the network of the service providers Google said that other companies can strike similar deals like OpenEdge to speed up their service.
